Individual Project – Transforming Relationships
Since I am unemployed and still in school, I will be working on this project from the convenience of my own home. luckily, I work from home, which frees up a lot of time for me to spend with my loved ones, especially my sister, with whom I value keeping in close touch. In my situation, I am going after my older sister as my target who is 23 years not working but she is still making progress toward her degree. We belong to a family of four as well as we share a home with both of our parents. Since we were both very young, my relationship with her has never been perfect at any point.
Since her birth occurred two years before mine, we have essentially been adversaries ever since we first met. My parents had always wanted to have a son, so the birth of me might have made her feel like she was being abandoned, which in turn would have caused her to despise me. I have often taken note of her lack of communication and her hostile demeanor toward us. She reported that she had the impression that everyone was focusing on me, which may have given her the impression that she was no longer a member of the family.
From nearly the day I was born, my older sister and I have not been a good relationship with one another. My parents say that once I arrived home as an infant, she refused to have anything to do with me. I think my parents just thought that because they were so busy with work and school, and as a result, her bad habits persisted and even intensified. Her life seemed to be one long, lonely routine with no one to share it with or to provide support. I’ve tried to befriend her for as long as I can remember, but it never really works out.
Accepting my invitations to watch a movie or go out to supper with me and my family occasionally. buying my sister unexpected presents, assisting her with her schoolwork, and even occasionally giving her a ride to school, but the majority of the time she chose to reject all of my offers and do things on her own. The most of the time, we would go for weeks without speaking, and at such times she could not even bring herself to look at me in the eyes. She had a habit of shutting everyone out of her life by locking herself in her room. We tried to have a talk with her on multiple occasions, but all she did was yell at everyone. Was until we tried home therapy for her, giving her all of the attention; but she persistently shut herself in her room and refused to speak to anyone.
