BUS340 Week 1 Discussion 2 Ethical Choices

As an employee responsible for communication in the company, it is my responsibility to ensure that the communication method use is ethical. As such, one of the suggestions I would make would be to have the document inform the client of what they expect right from the beginning. In communication, stating the purpose of communication comes first. As such, concealing the intention of the communication up to the end is not morally right. It looks like the company is being cunning. As such, since the raising of the rates is the main focus of the communication write up, I would ensure that this message comes first. It would be bad news. However, it would give us the opportunity to justify the move. Doing that would also allow us to communicate to the benefits that the clients may realize from it. In fact, it would help the audience identify with the honesty and the integrity of the company.

Again, I would suggest that the composition of the letter smoothly introduces the clients into the commitment of the organization to stand with them even at the tough times when they have to pay high insurance rate. This would bring a smooth flow into the bad news and even make it possible for the clients to understand it.
