EXP105_G30 Discussions Week 5 - Discussion 2- Learning from the Past

Life as a Food Laboratory Food Technician

I have worked as a food technologist for over seven years, and love my job description which is to receive in raw ingredients, test the products, and then release the products.

In receiving the ingredients in I have to use my Sequence learning pattern by following direction on how to process the material into the plant, reviewing and double-checking the paperwork that comes with it.

To test the ingredients, I have to utilize the learning pattern of Precision by recording accurate details of the finding and making a decision on determining to release the product and documenting the results.

Upon releasing the products, I use my Technical Confluence by implementing and predicting that the results are for operational use.Ā

I find myself using all my learning patterns just by living everyday life experiences.Ā  When making a decision on items dealing with food products that you and your family will consume, all patterns are used without you thinking about it.

One thing that I least like is that I have to go down a lot of steep steps to get to the loading docks to pull a sample of the product and that’s where the pattern of them all come into play, I have to use put things in order of sequence, create a document to present my knowledge and experience.

This job requires a lot of brainstorming and research from various vendors on their products as well as analytical results.Ā  I take my job very seriously because I take products home to my family, and I want to make sure that it’s correctly analyzed.
