Based on your career goals, prioritize the five soft skills in the order that you think will be most critical to your professional success. Leadership Skills, Effective Communication, Strong Work Ethic, problem solving and Collaborative teamwork.

As a daycare director, Leadership Skills are very important as to be able to communicate with the staff and assuring the sense of authority. Your job as a leader is to also explain to your employees how to be motivated and to have a positive attitude. Being able to Effectively Communicate with the staff is important because being able to relay information to get a point across in clear and simple terms so that no is misunderstanding there of what to do. It also consist of being a good listener with respect for others whom may be in need. A person with a Strong Work Ethic has the motivation to motivate others. It tends to produce high quality work and it also motivates them to continue their work process to reap the rewards later. Having someone to be a creative problem solver to analyze situation and come out with the best solution for the team. For my daycare facility being a creative problem solver would also include critical thinking and applying action. Last but not least, Collaborative teamwork is important because the team sees value in working together and it gives them a meaningful reason to work together. It also promotes a positive work environment for everyone and gives them a sense of being, like I’m suppose to be here doing this at this moment.

I have a STRONG work ethic because I’m a motivator on and off the job. I like getting things done in a timely manner, while trying to pass the feeling on to others. I consider myself to be a go-get-her, and won’t stop until the task is finished.
