My name is (your name) and I am a student at Arizona State University majoring in Exercise and Wellness. My long-term goal is to become an occupational therapist. I live in Phoenix; AZ and I have been going around this city observing how different workplace conditions affect the employees. As an aspiring healthcare professional, I wanted to devote the time to tackle the prevalence of sedentary work among your staff and propose some solutions that may be useful. Sitting for lengthy periods of time is hazardous to the health of both employees and the organization in the long run . In my opinion, there are certain ways in which the working environment at your organization may be enhanced. The basic concept is to provide your workers with opportunities for physical exercise throughout the workday. This will require the installation of office gym equipment and basement table tennis and badminton sports equipment. This will be effective in 3 main ways namely, reducing the employeesā risk of contracting chronic illnesses, increasing physical activity among employees, and increasing the employeesā focus on their overall health.
Many employeesā roles in tech firms require sitting around cracking codes the whole day. This could easily lead to a lack of creating time to participate in regular exercise. This puts your employees at a very high susceptibility to contracting chronic illnesses. Regular exercise reduces the risk of contracting chronic illnesses like many types of cancer, heart diseases, and type 2 diabetes . Even without additional risk factors, heart disease may be brought on by a lack of physical exercise. Obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, and type 2 diabetes are all additional risk factors that might emerge as a result. Installation of office gym with exercise equipment like stationary bikes would be of much help. Stationary bike pedaling is good cardiovascular exercise. Cardiovascular exercises are great for the prevention of chronic diseases.
Numerous research in the last few years have shown the beneficial effects of exercise and other forms of physical activity on stress at work. When compared to those who did not regularly exercise, those who did so reported significantly lower levels of work stress and greater levels of job satisfaction from some documented research. There is a dose-response association between physical activity and job performance. Physical exercise encourages the growth of new mitochondria inside human cells, which over time will increase oneās bodyās capacity to make ATP . This increases oneās physical strength and provides the brain with more energy, which improves mental performance.
A companyās employeesā overall health is very vital for its stability in the future. Promoting the overall health of your workforce will ensure that the company maintains its experienced staff longer. Because most of your employees are physically inactive, most are likely to contract diseases and quit earlier than expected. To reduce stress and create productive workplaces where people and organizations may flourish, the promotion of employeesā overall health is important . Healthy living is a key facilitator of employee engagement and organizational success.
In conclusion, there are so many health risks associated with living a sedentary lifestyle. That is why most developed countries have the highest rates of chronic diseases. Tech firms are the most affected since most of their employees sit around all day. The introduction of an office gym facility in your organization will be of much help. The three main ideas are promoting the overall health of the employees, encouraging physical fitness among employees, and reducing the risks of contracting chronic illnesses among employees.
