HEP 251 Discussion 3 Virtual Poster Session

My poster explains Xanax, generic name alprazolam, which is a medication used for anxiety and panic disorders. This medication is a popular street drug and can lead to addiction very quickly. This drug can make the user experience feelings of euphoria, well-being, and calmness. The longer someone uses this drug, the more Xanax it takes to produce those same feelings which is one way that leads to overdose. Xanax is generally a written prescription from a healthcare provider, but it is also made in “pill mills” all over the country. Withdrawal from this drug can be life threatening and it is advised to detox under medical supervision.
