Post-Implementation Audits Note: This topic is graded.

Post-implementation audits are not an official output of the closing processes but are sometimes required by organizations to evaluate project goals, review successes and failures, and document possible improvements for future projects. What is your opinion of the value of conducting post-implementation audits?

When working in the government field we have to look for a lot of changes through out the year. The hardware is constantly changing or needing to be updated machine and software as well. We have a set budget that we cant go over and we have to use so we have to buy new machines and get rid of all the old ones. When it comes to the hard drive, they are supposed to pull the drives and then give the machines away but that isn’t always the case because the process isnt set in stone to where everyone is on the same page. Each location has a chief that controls or overseas a lot of things, but they aren’t always communicating with the technical help desk so there are times where the computer will be sent out but hard drive hasn’t been removed from the machine. The process can be improved by once the employee either leaves or changes computers, the chief should contact help desk via phone or email, so an technician can pull the hard drive. We have learned over the years a better process but there is always room for improvement. “Post-implementation audits instead of lessons learned sessions. Documenting and gathering during this procedure can serve the same function as lessons if you’re honest and include all the good, the bad, and the ugly” (Heldman,Kim Chapt 12). We have had some failures and success but if we work

all together as a team and do the proper research we come out better that way.
