Degree Progression

Which course(s) have had the biggest impact on your degree progression and why?

The courses that have had the biggest impact on my degree progression are database concepts, composition I and II, and software development concepts. Database concepts showed me how to properly work with databases using both Access and SQL. Composition I and II help to focus my writing as well as teach me the proper way to use A.P.A. format. Software development concepts taught me coding using C# and Java.

What is your major IT area of concentration?

My major IT area of concentration is programming and software development.

Have you changed your interest area since beginning your degree?

I have changed my interest twice since I began my degree.

If so why?

I first thought I had wanted to do cyber security, but after hearing from many of my classmates that most of them were too I decided against it. Next, I though because databases were a little fun that it may be a possibility. Finally, once I started working with coding, I knew I had found what I was looking for.

What skills have you practiced during your courses?

I have practiced better writing and studying skills, better time management, and positive thinking towards each course that I have taken. Through the oversite of awesome instructors, I have gotten better with each course to make myself a more professional person and to take any assignment or project seriously.
