For Ms. Leigh network investment I will imply my recommendations of building a solid network infrastructure. Since we are installing three computers it will be beneficial to set up a LAN network. The LAN have the ability to connect multiple devices to a server, this can help with file sharing and connecting other peripherals devices such as a printer to the network. Since Ms. Leigh isn’t planning to invest a lot of money to keep it at an affordable rate a peer to peer network will work in this setting. It can have all the computers communicate on the network allowing it to store its own files and own applications. It will be best to connect the main computer via Ethernet wire cable so it can connect using WIFI but I would recommend using Ethernet cable to utilize the maximum download/upload speeds. The computer in the house can connect to the network via WIFI and access the network files from home. As far as hardware it will be advised to have a switch to connect all the devices on the same network, this will tie all the devices together. One of the best switch hardware is a Linksys 5-port GB Ethernet. A router is also important to connect multiple networks and share the internet across all devices. My recommendation router hardware is Asus RT-AC68U. For network security, a firewall is a must have to protect any outside access to the network. Secure your WIFI network with a private SSD and password to ensure any access to your business network. Make backups to all business related or personal data. There are numerous of software to use when protecting your networks such as 360 enterprises, Cyren, and more.
