Globalization
Globalization is defined as the expansion of global interaction among people, companies, governments of different nations and it driven by international trade and investments. The effects that IT has had on globalization is the way we communicate with other, the way promote and the way we do our jobs.
The Internet is a key factor to globalization because with the internet in place you are able to sale and trade services or goods from anywhere in the world. The internet has made it possible for you to be in one part of the world and still be able to communicate with family and friends anywhere in the world. The internet has helped many spread information about their business which is a form of e-commerce or just to tell a story about their lives. The internet will never stop and continues to get better because people do everything using the internet. It allows students to connect with others from different countries and brings cultures together 24 hours a day.
Globalization has effected the way we acquire our news. News is now broadcast on a wide variety of channels, languages, cultures and even those with disabilities such as hearing loss. News is now available on your smartphones, tablets, laptops/desktop and you can stream news station in your car by using satellite radio. We now able to watch News from other countries by using CNN (Cable News Network) which reports worldwide news. CNN is an American cable and satellite television channel that was founded on June 1, 1980.
Globalization has complete changed the jobs industry in many ways such as being able to use cloud-computing. What this means is that if you are at your office building you are now able to access your work from anywhere suggesting that you are on a business trip in Japan. The way we market products, services and goods has been effected because are now able to buy and sale internationally instead of just local or just in the United States.
Some ways to market to people from diverse cultures would be to learn their language meaning if you want to reach cultures in Puerto Rico you might want to learn how to speak
Spanish. If you have business card you might want to print them in other languages such as French, Spanish, German and Chinese. You may want to travel to their country to see what products are preferred by the people and learn the beliefs of their culture such as certain cultures do not eat pork or they may not be able to show their skin to people outside of their immediate family. You might want to hire a local from that culture work as a liaison to build your business in that country.
