21 September, 2024 | 2 Min Read

Visit the AndroidĀ® Play Store or the iPhoneĀ® Store and choose two applications that you feel will help you as you progress through school.

You can consider time management tools, note-taking tools, study tools (such as math games) or any other tool you believe will be useful.

Begin by briefly describing the application.

Is the application free, or does it cost money?

What do you like most about the app?

How do you think it will help you?

Would you recommend it to your classmates? Why or why not?

Your first post should be on or before Saturday and a minimum of 100 words. Include a link to any site you used to help you respond to the question. Make sure you respond substantively to at least two classmates.

Hello All,

The two Android applications I chose to explore are Blackboard Mobile Learn and My Study Life. I chose these two applications, because I feel they will help me keep track of my grades and alert on any changes with my courses.

Blackboard Mobile Learn Students is free if your school licenses Blackboard Mobile Learn, otherwise it’s only $1.99 for a lifetime. With this application you can receive notifications about any activity on your account, get grade updates, post to discussion boards and read responses to discussion board answers, access and post to your Dropbox, and take tests from your phone. I like this app, because of the feature to be able to post to discussion boards and the fact that it sends notifications straight to my phone if there is any change or posts to my account.

My Study Life is a free app used by teachers, college students and high school students. This app allows you to store your classes, homework and exams on a cloud, so you can access your information from anywhere and any device. This app sends reminders so you don’t miss anything important, it allows you to create a task list for assignments, and another plus is that it’s free with no ads.

I would recommend both apps, but my preference would be the My Study Life app since it’s free to all students and you have the capability of accessing it from any device, so no worries if my phone dies.
