Answer and provide a brief explanation to the following questions:

  1. A type of transmission in which a signal may travel in both directions over a medium simultaneously.
    1. Frequency
    2. Patch panel
    3. Half duplex

In this set up both devices can communicate with each other at the same time.

  1. A _____ is a device that is commonly used to connect individual stranded wires into female RJ45 connectors.
    1. 66 block
    2. 110 block
    3. Patch panel
    4. Punchdown tool

A patch panel normally has 110 block on the back and rj45 connectors on the front.

  1. The _____ is typically located on the bottom floor of a building, just inside the building.
    1. Demarcation point (demarc)
    2. Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF)
    3. Main Distribution Frame (MDF)
    4. Vertical cross connect

  1. This cable is designed to provide better protection against EMI and crosstalk than Cat 6 cabling.
    1. Cat 5e
    2. Cat 5
    3. Cat 6a
    4. Cat 3
  2. Binary is a Base _____ numbering system.
    1. 16
    2. 2
    3. 4
    4. Exponential

Part 2

My choice for Cabling would be Cat6a. This one for the fact that when the speeds upgrades that can come later this is the more expensive yet future proof option. If there was an issues with cost then no less than cat 6 would be used. This could come with the down side of needing to be upgraded later which would cause more cost but this is the choice of the client. You would need to consider if you didn’t go with the cost upfront what man hours and cost of materials would be if you decided to upgrade later.

This can be a headache when you can just future proof yourself from the start.
