MGT302 Discussion 1 Week 5 Integrated Supply Chain Process Model

Discuss the benefits of deploying an integrated supply chain process at any retail or manufacturing organization such as that deployed at Walmart or Toyota. How do such processes support the strategic plan of the business employing such a model? What are some of the key factors associated with successful deployment of the model? And what method would you consider appropriate for measuring the integrated process?

Wisner (2017) explains process integration as the sharing of information, collaboration, and coordination of resources to manage a process (Wisner, 2017). The main aim of process integration among firms is to ensure that the business maximizes the value. The benefits associated with the implementation of process integration include better utilization of the firm’s resources, a reduced time spent on the market, reduced cost of the supply chain and better quality culminating to maximum value increase in the market.

Business employing such a model have eyes set in maintain the various aspects of the business ranging from competitive advantage and the relationship management process. Employing this model for a business ensures that the objectives in place for the supply chain are met, supplier and customer relationship management process.

Some of the factors that have to be considered are those that will ensure continuous operations of the business. The business has to have sustainable serviced which will define the quality approaches in place. Other factors include the ability of the management of the company resources to help in the growth of the company through communication and enhancing customer services. Marketing techniques should be optimized to improve the supply chain and the overall business.
