The core competence of Netflix Company is its innovative culture and ability to maintain a remarkable customer experience. Although the company faces stiff competition from other live streaming companies, gaming companies and social media platforms, creation of innovative realms through which customer experience is enhanced keeps it on the lead in the entertainment industry. This innovation enables the company to offer streaming services at lower costs which enlarges its customer base.

Give an example of how the values and mission statement help to shape planning. Additionally, discuss some internal and external factors that may influence the business in the future.

The value of customer experience remains a core element in Netflix organization. This value guides the company to come up with decisions that maintain the company in most favorable terms with the customer particularly with regard to customer experience. The company’s mission statements states, “We promise our customers stellar service, our suppliers a valuable partner, our investors the prospects of sustained profitable growth, and our employees the allure of huge impact.” This mission statement reflects the aspect with which the product is known for among the customers—offering outstanding and unmatched video at the best prices for the customers.

As such, aspects such as quality of shows and customer experience determine the decisions made at the organization as they are the basis of the organizations competitive advantage.
