QUESTIONS (8 points total)

Please answer all questions using proper spelling, grammar and punctuation.

1. What TWO things are used when determining BMI? (1 point)

The two things needed when determining your BMI is Height and weight.

2. a. What is your weight classification according to BMI standards (normal weight, overweight or obese)? (1 point) I am classified as overweight.

b. Do you feel this is an accurate classification? Why or why not? (1 point) No, I do not, the reason being is that I have lost a lot of weight within the last 6 months. I went from 286lbs to 203 and to know I am still considered overweight is a little upsetting.

3. Based on the information in the table ā€œAssessment of Energy Balanceā€, what energy balance state are you in: positive, negative, or in balance? NOTE: If your kcal difference is <100, you may consider yourself to be in ā€˜in balanceā€™. (1 point) My energy balance level was -345. I am in the negative energy state.

4. How might your daily energy balance fluctuate during the week (for example on weekdays vs. weekends and/or your frequency of exercise)? Explain at least two specific examples based on your lifestyle during this course. (2 points)

During the week I tend to get more exercise because I get a lot of steps in vs being at home on the weekends. The weekends are my lounge days. I also tend to eat worse on the weekends versus the weekdays.

5. Looking at your diet analysis: What time of day (morning, midday, evening, or overnight) did you have the highest energy intake? (1 point) I tend to have the highest energy intake during the morning.

6. We didnā€™t track energy expenditure, but if you had to guess, what time of day (morning, midday, evening, or overnight) do you think you have the highest energy expenditure (i.e. when are you most active)? (1 point)

I believe that I have more energy in the morning. I am definitely a morning person. I do the majority of my day to day tasks at this time. I’m not sure if it’s the coffee and the caffeine in the morning or it’s just my energy level. I know for sure the caffeine definitely adds an added boost to my energy level.
