Popes on how man is presented in Essays of Man

Introduction

This discussion is meant to analyze the writings of the Pope in theEssays on Man. The design part of the book act as the introduction. Pope explains why he writes a man in his abstract, state, and nature. He says that his essay writings are based on the map of humanity. His poet is divided into various sections called epistles. in the first epistle, the id deals with the nature and the state of man in the universal.

Furthermore, man is not in the position of questioning God of anything; he should remain faithful to him constantly. The second epistle, which states that the nature and state of man for himself are personable, argues that people should learn to understand themselves and their weaknesses, not question God. Furthermore, no one should copy anyone; one should learn to live independently. Finally, Pope explains and claims that every person should live a happy life. Furthermore, God balances life’s losses and gains.

In the third epistle, he argues about man’s nature and state concerning society. Here we see man’s steps to develop society, e.g., building cities and churches. Finally, in the fourth epistle, we discuss nature and the state of man concerning his happiness. God wants every human always to be happy, although humans are trying to divert from it, arguing that happiness comes from wealth. A good of the four epistles below follows, and an excellent and comprehensive discussion of them and how they relate to humankind.

Body

Epistle One

It deals with nature and the state of man concerning the universe. Every person has a purpose in this world. Pope says God hides the future from human beings to impact the sense of hope in life in this world. If every creature on this earth is living happy, why should a human be unhappy? The universe includes organisms, ocean and heaven creatures, and people. Which are not independent on their own?

Furthermore, every creature in the universe is essential. Therefore, man should believe in God s power for earthing exists according to God’s plan and will (Pope, .2016). These calls every human being to take care of the universe and love it.

Epistle Two

Deals with nature and the state of man concerning himself. Pope emphasizes that people should know themselves especially knowing their weaknesses. Love is a fundamental principle for humans. The man should not embrace self but also love for a reason. The man should have passions. Men with passion can propel many things of their own, and only God attributes those passions. What makes passions productive, makes things for themselves, and helps fight adversity to achieve goals (Pope. 2016). Epistle emphasizes that everyone should always be happy.

Epistle Three

It deals with the nature and state of man concerning society. Anything in this life is a chain of love; all living this depend on each other for growth. Man has the power of interaction which nature does not have. Man, give the all-creatures zoo in the world so that he can enjoy them. All creatures enjoy being part of society. A human being takes longer than animals under parental care; they are emotionally connected to parents, so taking care of them during their aging brings love to society (Cattaneo. 2022). Man has played a part in developing society by building cities. Man has learned to maintain peace in the society through negotiation and warfare, and kings and leaders were selected to a direction the society. Man-formed churches and governments, early churches were built on pride and blood sacrifice (Pope. 2016). So man is highly considered to bring changes in society.

Epistle Four

It deals with nature and the state of man concerning happiness. It is a false idea that happiness comes with fame and wealth. Happiness is always free. People want to be happy; they should not blame God but blame themselves if they are not happy. God wants everybody to be happy. Reasonable people will only need the following health, peace, and self-belief. Pope connects goodness and happiness; he says good people are always happy (Cattaneo, .2022). It implies that to receive happiness from others, you must do the vice versa.

Conclusion

According to Pope’s writings, man holds the primary purpose in this universe, and he should always entirely depend on God. Moreover, they should always submit their worries to God. Man is given complete control of the universe to guide other creatures. With all the power, he should learn to respect himself. Understand himself more especially knowing his weaknesses. The man should develop passion with reasons in order to grow himself. Man is expected to bring significant changes to society for all creatures to enjoy. Man has developed cities, schools’ hospitals, industries, and many other infrastructures and is expected to develop more and more. A man even introduced churches and government; this originated from his love. With love in his life, the s expected to live happily with or without wealth or fame as long as he has good health, peace, and self-love, for God wants man to live a happy life. So man should remain good to others and live happily with everyone.
