After reading the below article, I found that for Kip Tindell the goal never has been growth strictly for growth. For him growth and success have always been the unavoidable result of a basic set of corporate values, centered on strict merchandising, exceptional customer service and strong employee commitment. I believe Kip Tindell is an anomaly in the business world, because of his obsession with the people aspect of the industry. Kip’s belief has turned into one of The Container Store’s core business philosophies, according to which one great person equals three good people in terms of business productivity. I think that the purpose of business is primarily to maximize shareholder value because management can benefit from maximization of shareholder value because it will provide both the consumer and the producer with many benefits. As well as helps management show their respect and recognize the importance for shareholders.
